The Custoza Superiore DOC - Cà del Magro is a wine of exceptional quality and potential that can provide delightful experiences if aged. It showcases a bouquet of chamomile and white flowers, accompanied by fruity aromas of Golden apple, lychee, pear, apricot, yellow peach, and mango. An enjoyable spicy note of ginger and a mineral undertone further enhance its composition. On the palate, it is dry, salty, and full-bodied, with excellent aromatic persistence.
The vineyard, located just a few kilometers from Verona in the village of Custoza, spans 8 hectares in front of the renowned Villa Pignatti Morano. The Garganega, Trebbiano Toscano, and Cortese grape varieties are cultivated using the Guyot method on vineyards that are over 30 years old. The soils consist of limestone, clay, gravel, and sand, adding to the wine's character.
The Custoza Superiore DOC - Cà del Magro is a highly versatile wine suitable for every season, and it evolves exceptionally well over time. The grapes undergo low-temperature fermentation (cryomaceration) in stainless steel, allowing for the natural enhancement of aromas and reducing the need for added sulfites. The tasting experience is inviting, harmonious, and elegant.
With its unique character and charm derived from the vineyard's age, this wine offers minerality that has been recognized by numerous national and international guides. It has been awarded the prestigious TRE BICCHIERI (Three Glasses) prize in the Gambero Rosso guide for the past 13 years.
